葬礼上的笑声 第二组
踏着被冬雨淋湿的落叶，我手握一束洁白的康乃馨，驻足在了小城临海的一座由岩石砌制而成的教堂门口。
“……非常感谢你的到来……”
身着一袭黑色羊毛衣裙的Beth站立在教堂厚重的木门前，面带微笑地，轻轻地拥抱了我。
“我为伯母的去世而感到悲伤，对你的失去而感到抱歉……”
我在她的耳畔轻声的耳语道，用悲伤的神色装点着我的面孔。
Beth用温暖的目光注视了我片刻，然后微笑着对我道了谢，将目光投向了我身后前来悼念的人们。
教堂的厅堂里摆放着一个用红木制成的棺木，被白色的玫瑰花所围绕着。
我跟在人们的身后，将手里的鲜花和卡片轻放在了棺木上，然后在教堂的长椅上坐了下来。
教堂前的大银幕上放映着Beth过世的母亲Ellen生前的照片。令我感到惊奇的是，从音箱里播放出来的音乐却是明朗而又快乐的。

Kathleen从稿纸上抬起了被泪水润湿了的，微红的双眼，带着幽默的表情补充道:
“……我的外祖母当时的胆子好大，才一个月的时间就订下了终身;如果我的外祖父是一位有着性格缺陷的变态者，举目无亲的她该怎么办呢？”
教堂里响起了一片哄笑声。
幸运的是，Kathleen的外祖父George生前，是我所在的小城，甚至整个州里著名的造船工程师。
他不仅幸运地从诺曼底的惨烈中生存了下来，并且从海军退役后本着自己对海洋的热爱，重新进入大学学习了造船工程，并且创办了自己的船泊制造和修理公司。
遗憾的是，由于他的造船工艺停留在木制船舶的制造和修理上，最终被金属船舶的制造工艺所替代。他于是便关闭了公司，在小城中与妻子平静的度过了退休的晚年生活。
Kathleen放下了手里的演讲稿，侧身注视着身后大屏幕上，伴随着轻松愉悦的音乐声而不断地更换着的幻灯片:那是一些Kathleen的祖父母生前在一起共享美好时光的照片。她那不时地拿起话筒，用幽默和温暖怀念的语调所做出的解说，仿佛将教堂里的悼念者们带回到了死者生前的那一些难忘的岁月中……
又是一片哄笑声，将我的目光从荧幕上遥远的回忆里，拉回到了置身的教堂中。
我看到坐在前排的Beth不知何时走到了女儿的身边，用幽默的语气讲述着记忆中有关已逝的父母滑稽可笑的生前故事。

伴随着Beth的祈祷声，教堂里的人们低下了头，默语着对逝者的祝福……
葬礼过后，我在教堂后花园里举行的的酒会上，终于有了与Beth交流感受的时刻。
我告诉她，在我的故国和故乡，人们是用悲伤和哭泣来表示对逝者的哀悼的;葬礼上的欢笑声被视为是对逝者的不孝或是不尊重。
Beth静静地聆听着我的讲述，并且微笑着点着头，然后平静地对我说道:
“……其实在我们家人的心中，都在承受着失去了亲人的悲哀和痛苦;但是逝者已逝，这就是生命，这就是生活。而今天的葬礼，是对逝者逝去了的生命的庆祝，所以不管他们生前所经历过的生命是快乐的还是愁苦，悲伤的，我和我的家人认为我们都应该以欢乐的方式来庆祝他们生命的完结，并且在我们今后的生活中，永远记住她们生前欢乐的时光和美好的时刻……”
